Musical Cove aspires to foster an enjoyment of music that lasts a lifetime in our students. Our music programmes focus on active, student-centred, and curiosity-driven learning for the piano, guitar, and ukulele.

We believe every student is unique, and no standard teaching method would work for everyone. At Musical Cove, we personalize our lessons based on our student's goals and learning pace. We enjoy listening to our students, respecting their identities, and allowing them to be involved in their musical journey.

We also encourage students to take internationally-recognized examinations and participate in our yearly recital. We believe these opportunities give them the chance to feel a sense of achievement, recognition, and confidence!

The Pianist

Teacher Jesslyn

Jesslyn is the founder of Musical Cove, a boutique music studio in Singapore built on the belief that music is a lifelong journey, not just a destination. With over 17 years of teaching experience, she has guided students of all ages in discovering not only how to play music, but how to truly enjoy and connect with it.

At Musical Cove, Jesslyn has intentionally created a close-knit and encouraging community where learning goes beyond exams and achievements. While technical foundations remain important, her focus is on helping students develop a genuine love for music that stays with them long after lessons end. She believes that every child can build a meaningful relationship with music, learning to appreciate it, express themselves, and take pride in their own progress.

Her teaching approach is deeply personalised, recognising that each student learns differently. Lessons are tailored to each individual’s abilities, interests, and goals, whether in classical repertoire, pop music, or beyond. Jesslyn values building meaningful relationships with her students, creating a space where they feel supported, motivated, and excited to learn.Through music, she nurtures not just skill, but also confidence, resilience, and discipline. For Jesslyn, the most rewarding outcome is seeing her students grow into individuals who not only play music, but truly enjoy and carry it with them for life.

Teacher Clara

Clara has been teaching the piano since 2019, while studying music full time in school. Driven by her desire to inspire the younger generation, she is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

Her goal is to share her passion for music with others through her teaching, fostering a love in learning this language. She hopes to develop musical abilities of her students by honing their skills while providing them with an outlet for self-expression.Clara recognises the importance of adapting her teaching approaches towards the learning style of an individual. Through this, she aspires to creates an optimal learning environment for her students to reach their full potential.

Teacher Hao Zheng

Hao Zheng believes that music is a rewarding experience for those who pursue it. Currently pursuing a Diploma in Music (Piano Performance) at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), he reflects strong technical proficiency and musical understanding.

A former Music Elective Programme student, Hao Zheng developed strong foundations in musicianship, performance practice, and ensemble collaboration. He remains actively involved in performances at NAFA and regularly provides accompaniment for instrumentalists, continuing to refine his musical craft.Patient and attentive, Hao Zheng understands that every child has their own learning style. He strives to keep students engaged in the music-making process while nurturing their individuality and building strong musical foundations.He believes that a positive teacher–student relationship is essential in creating a supportive learning environment where a child’s love for music can continue to grow.

Teacher Carmen

Carmen is a dedicated young pianist currently pursuing her Diploma in Music at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), where she was admitted as a direct-entry Year 2 student. As an active musician, she regularly engages in accompaniment work and performance settings, developing strong musical sensitivity, discipline, and confidence in her playing.Carmen believes that music education should be both fun and enriching for every student. She is passionate about guiding students in building strong technical foundations while nurturing their musical growth and confidence, especially in developing expressive and confident playing.

Approachable, kind, and engaging, Carmen forms meaningful connections with her students and understands that each child learns differently. She tailors her teaching to suit individual learning styles, creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students remain curious, motivated, and enjoy the learning process.

The Guitarist / Song writer

Teacher Jeremy

Teacher Jeremy has been teaching the guitar & ukulele in various MOE and music schools over the past 12 years. A passionate musician, he loves sharing his knowledge with like-minded students and helping cultivate their talents.

Throughout his teaching career, Jeremy has worked with students from a variety of backgrounds, ages, and experience levels. An expert in engaging youths and adults, he enjoys the opportunity to pass on his experience and knowledge to students who are passionate about music.As a versatile guitarist and singer-songwriter, Jeremy has contributed to numerous professional projects internationally. Currently he is a part of a songwriting and production studio in the United States.Jeremy loves to incorporate different styles of music and techniques into his lessons and encourages students to learn music that they are passionate about. He creates a supportive environment where students can feel comfortable and motivated to explore different styles of music such as Rock, Pop, Jazz, Metal, Funk etc.
